PIFO New Art Gallery was founded in April 2006. In March 2009, it will move to its new space in 789 Art Area. The new space has a exhibition area of 800 square meters, designed by Mr. Han Wenqiang, a young architect in Architecture Department, China Central Academy of Fine Arts.
 
PIFO dedicated in discovering and training new artists, including artists of middle age that neglected by the art history and market and artists of young generation. Based on Chinese art creation and marketing situation, the quality of handicraft and painting is one of the most important standard for PIFO to select artists. Furthermore, PIFO also makes an effort to develop various art types like material, video, and installation. Having faith to our judgment, keeping away from vulgarization, keeping individuality and to build a long term market are always the principles PIFO stands on. Proceed from art and China, it is PIFO’s dream to promote the Chinese contemporary arts and achieve an international reputation.
 
PIFO New Art Gallery has nearly twenty outstanding resident artists, like Cao Hui, Xiong Yu, Liu Zhiyi, Fan Mingzheng, Kang Haitao, Wu Di, Li Hongjun, Wu Haizhou, Zhang Xuerui, Liu Wentao, Huang Yang and Jiang Huajun, and collaborates with excellent contemporary artists including Wang Chuan, Liang Quan, Wei Jia, Song Kun, Hu Qinwu, Huang Jia, Tan Jun and Yu Aijun. Besides, PIFO has a large collection of remarkable contemporary art works. PIFO continuously promotes Chinese contemporary arts of young generation with art exhibitions of high quality.
 
From the very beginning, PIFO keeps on put a high premium on building exhibition brands and designing and publishing. “A+A” Co- Exhibition becomes an annual platform to show their works for young artists and an important standard for the collectors to discover excellent young artists. “Painting & Handworking” inclines to non-painting works like installation, materials and multimedia. It features avant-garde and experimentation. Now “A+A” and “Painting & Handworking” are PIFO New Art Gallery’s core exhibition brands, attaching high attention from this field and outsiders. And the unique catalogues and annual non-profit projects cooperated with museums are important component part of PIFO’s exhibition brands.
 
With persistent goal, PIFO will, as always, supports Chinese contemporary art of young generation, promotes its creativity and keeps it active.
